Currently we are accepting members between the ages of 5 and 21. You do not have to be in the foster system to become a pen pal to a foster youth. We will match pen pals in accordance with their preference. Please visit our website for more information.
What does Pen a Friend, Inc. you use my personal information for?
Your personal info, such as e-mail address, name or age, and any other information you provide on your application, will never be shown on any pages on the Pen A Friend, Inc. website.
Pen A Friend, Inc. will use your information so that we can properly and carefully match you with another pen pal. Your personal information provided to Pen A Friend, Inc. will never be shared publicly or with any member of Pen A Friend, Inc.
How will Pen A Friend, Inc. assign a pen pal to me?
Pen A Friend, Inc. will use the information you provided on your application to match you to a pen pal that is best suited for you. Pen A Friend, Inc. will never match a pen pal who is under 18 with someone who is over 18. Youth under the age of 18 will be matched with other youth under the age of 18. Youth over the age of 18 will be matched with other youth over the age of 18.
What is the International Pen Pal Program?
We added the international pen pal program so that we could benefit youth from around the world. You do not have to be in the foster system to become a pen pal to someone in a country outside of the United States. We will match pen pals in accordance with their preference. Will my membership with Pen A Friend, Inc. end after the global health crisis has ended?
No, your free membership with Pen A Friend, Inc. is forever. We will not cancel your membership unless you ask us to.
Can I apply to become a Foster Youth Pen Pal and an International Pen Pal?
Yes you can apply to become a part of our pen pal program for foster youth, as well as our international pen pal program. We will make out best effort to match pen pals as soon as we can. Please apply today!
